Gianluca Farina is a first generation Italian-American, born and raised on Long Island. He started private trumpet lessons at ten years old. In 2015, Farina earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia, where he studied with Roderick Macdonald and Alex Jokipii. He is currently pursuin a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance at the New England Conservatory in Boston under Thomas Rolfs of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Gianluca was a fellow for the National Repertory Orchestra in the summer of 2016 under Maestro Carl Topilow. He is also a Semifinalist for the New World Symphony for the 2016-2017 season. Farina also freelances in the Boston area, and enjoys teaching private lessonss and masterclasses, and playing jazz and rock music.
